how would these wheels compare to outlaws?

i went by the LBS to order some outlaws today...and a friend there offered to sell up some wheels he had built:
mtx rear on a formula hub
single track front on a formula hub

both are in perfect shape, true, and come with some maxxis holy rollers for $200...

would these be better/equal/worse than outlaws?

bike is a morewood ndiza ht, and i'm 240lbs. I ride pretty hard...but won't be "abusing" them...i'll keep the drops to flat for my bmx bike, haha.

Singletracks are a little on the flimsy side IMO, but for a front rim it doesn't really matter. With tires and all I think it's a decent deal.

Run high PSI in the tires and you'll be fine, I've flatspotted an MTX a few times. I does stay true though.

so.....you think i should just up $50 to get the outlaws?

i mean, like i said...i'm just getting back into riding, and these wheels CAN be upgraded later, after i get a new FS frame and stuff....i just want something to get the bike rideable, ya know.....but, on the other hand..i do NOT want to just udderly waste money.

i'm wanting to get them from my LBS...mostly because they've helped me out a LOT...and i'd rather give them buisness than ordering off e-bay...

and, remember..i also get 2 brand new maxxis holy rollers and tubes on the wheels....so pretty much, bolt them on and go.... the outlaws, i'll have to order and wait...and then buy some tubes too (big deal, right, haha)...and i do have some krad's....but, is the wait and money WORTH it over the custom wheels?

'm not trying to down ANY of your suggestions...just..kinda trying to weigh out my options myself too....

Yep! I ordered a set from that vendor earlier today, he's got good feedback on ebay & thru mtbr.

For $224 shipped, I think it's a great deal. He's a good $50+ cheaper (when you factor in shipping) than other online shops for Outlaws right now.

ok...well...the deal came down, and...i gotta go with the custom wheels. imma get them and an e13 DRS on saturday....and if my brakes and stuff have shown up...i ACTUALLY GET TO RIDE ON SATURDAY AND SUNDAY!!!!

but, i talked to the LBS more...and pretty much, IF i need to...i can order an mtx rim, and they'll put it together for me if the single track shits out...so, it's just looking too good of a deal to pass up now

thanks for your opinions though..i always value good info

    Single Track...AKA....SingleCrash
MTX...............AKA....Made To Xplode (never had either of these last, the metal is soft and dents and bends easily)

get the outlaws; actually made by Alex Rims (trust the BMX'rs, Alex sets the standard)...
