How wide do you like your handlebars?

And what type of bike are you riding?
Mine are 25" on an IH yakuza hardtail...thinking about cutting them again.

Yikes, that's narrow. I'm at 28" with my lock-ons over the edge, giving me a measured 29". I want 30" bars bad. If you look at the pros almost none go under 27", and most are at 28" or over. Wider bars give you more stability and better control and manuverability. I ride a Demo 8.

    I'm running 28" bars on my BMX too. It's a Fly 3amigos.

personal preferance... it all depends on three things.

    1. How tall you are
    2. Shoulder width
    3. How tight your trails are

I am running 26 inch wide now and have ordered some 28 inch wide that I think will be much better.

anything less than this is too narrow to x-up.

but seriously the faster your going, they better wider bars will feel. I noticed taht coming from bmx to xc to fr/dh because i used to cut my bmx bars for a more tight, clean, flicky feeling but i never took it down to measurements.

    I prefer wider bars.

If my new bars ever get here, I'll have 28" bars.... Funn needs to step up their game.

28" on my Trek, 25" on my STP. 27.5" on the cruiser. Riding the Trek makes me want Wider bars on the STP. I think I might try to score a wider set someplace.

I like my DJ bars short. about 25 inches. Any less than 26 inches on a DH bike is straight wacksauce. I run my DH bars at 27 1/2

Shoulder width has a lot do w/comfortable h-bars.
I have to say "I like mine to go all the way out to the ends on both sides."
"Why are you willing to take so much & leave others in need...just because you can?"

Interesting responses. I ride trails, a little freeride, some downhill. They are ProTaper bars. I only cut 1/2" off each side. Sometimes I catch myself with my hands way on the inside on the grip. Must be from my BMX days.
