    How old are you?

I need to convince my parents to let me get a new bike. I think it will help if they know that I am not the only kid on here.

How will knowing there are kids on mtbr persuade them to let you get a new bike...where is the logic in that.

Wouldn't parents be happier to see older riders in DH, to assuade their fears that "It's only a phase, you'll grow out of it."

They potentially just bought you a bike you'll have grown out of in a year. Then you can post another thread asking how many people have two bikes, for which there is an existing thread, as there is for this one (How old are you FR/DHillers?).

But... Stoked you got your bike dude! What did you get?

Haha yeah. I really do try not to be like some of the other kids. I am also into Photography; I have bought ALL my equipment by myself, and I take stride in this fact. (about 2500)

I got SMT's azonic gravity. Complete with Marzocchi shiver.

Yeah, Im huge. but Really lanky. I look mighty weird on my bmx bike

It's nice to hear about other kids buying their own stuff. I had to buy my own DH bike too. I bought almost all my gear by myself. A few things were christmas and birthday presents.

Its a medium, but with a FR bike.... It wont matter as much as it would have with a XC bike. Its only an inch smaller anyways...

I voted that I was 10 years old, even though I'm far older. Sometimes, we have to make sacrifices for the greater good.
