    Hope Moto V2

    What's up all,

I am about to put the final parts on my new build and I went on a limb and bought a set of 2007 Hope Moto V2's with vented rotors. Can I get anyones feedback about these. I know they are awesome brakes but would like some info from people that have used them.

    cheers
    Big T

They'll work fine. I'd prefer some Gustavs or Codes, but I have hope on both my bikes and performance is just fine. Loud sometimes, but fine. I will say that you will definitely want someone that knows what they are doing to set them up.

Was talking to a guy at the weekend who just put one up front. Said it was simply unbelievable. Looked OMG awesome too - pretty huge!

never used the new ones you are talking about, but all hope brakes that i've owned(C2, O2, DH04, Enduro4) simply blow away any other brakes i've owned...

in 8 years now of using them (still have every pair of them, can't seem to get around to getting rid of perfectly good brakes) i've never had issues with squealing either...

    WCH is on the money.

People with problems with Hopes are, overwhelmingly, uninformed on how to set them up. I've been running them for years with no problems to date.

You are going to be so stoked riding those brakes.

    HOPE is the tech-gnar!
I love my Mono M4's (have had 4 sets and 1 set of Mono minis) and they just have a feel that none others can touch.
I can't imagine what these new ones with the vented rotors will be like, but I'm not putting my money down on disappointment. The new moto levers look crazy too, probably don't even need to upgrade to dangerboys...
DOT 5.1 is the real deal, no wannabe mineral fluid.

although I was slightly disappointed (contrary to many others apparantly), that they got rid of the numbered specific caliper system (much smoother looking) and went with the post mount/adapter style... but that does make it easier to set-up for those who cannot comprehend the simple shim design (all these people who have loud ones...). But hey, both work, I'm not gonna complain.

Please post up some pics and a review when you get'em, set'em and jet'em!

I have the Hope V2's on my 303. They are the Shiznit. I've owned M4's, M6's and Mini's. These are BY FAR the best brakes I've owned. Period. But...You pay for them.

Yea they are the most powerful brakes I know of, or have tried for that matter. Much firmer lever feel then other hopes. awesome brakes.

i had no idea they did this, the caliper specific setup is definately the titties. i'm glad all my old sets are still this way....

Yep - 'Set it up right'

Wheres this little bit of Magic; UCI Certified mech, but I guess they're just too much for me...

love that 'set em up right' - whereas with other brakes, I just have to set em up and they work right.

This doesnt nec apply to the V2's - nope - havent touched those, just every other model.

No need to get fussy - you've got em, its done, you really think they're great - whoopee - done deal!

I never got that "set them up right" part either. But contrary to you, I set them up, and they work amazing. oh well. I guess different strokes for different folks.

I wonder if these strangely functional Hope brakes will still be covered
under warranty since I have a defective working set.

Had my Hopes for almost 3 years...no worries and great feel from lightly feathering them to full on STOP!!! I guess some people just have the touch, others just complain.

Without a doubt, these where no joy to get setup. But once set up right, they feel great.
