Happy B-Day to ME! New Ride

Andrew got my new frame to me on Friday and got her built up on Saturday. Sunday out to Timberline and then to Ski Bowl for their last day of lift assisted runs. Only one thing to say about her: FAST! My M1 rear shock problems are now solved for GOOD! LMAO! Worked out well since today is my B-day, YAY!

    Have FUN!

Because I'm out of cash and that's what was on my M1 (most of the parts I just switched over but I did get a new BB/crankset and wheelset (LOVE the Hadley 150mm rear hub). Honestly the Stratos is one of the plushest forks ever made. It is heavy and does not have the inertia damping so it does brake dive some. Would love to have a RS World Cup but it will be another year before I can afford that. What do you all recommend I look at (or just be happy with the Stratos?).

    Thanks,

    G

    welcome tot he club man!

peep the RS team, its exactly the same as the word cup minus the air spring and a few hundred bucks. you can also convert it to the air system for considerably less then the up charge.... and the black will match much better then the white

Thanks for the positive comments and b-day wishes everyone!

Glade was a lotta fun, great day and ground was tacky and fast (finally no more dust). Was disappointed to see that clearcut area - my friends were thinking that's where the gondola will be that they plan to run over to Ski Bowl (and Meadows eventually?). Maybe someday they'll turn it into a mega resort linking all three areas and having lift runs at all three for MTB's! Also beware of the DEEP ruts about halfway down the Glade - some are covered with vegetation and you won't see them. Will probably be shuttling that run a couple more times before the snow flies so let me know if any of you guys wanna ride.

    Cheers!

    G

New question here. Thanks for the fork recommendations; more ?'s

Looks like I need to look at the 888 and the Boxxer Team. How would I convert a Team to a WC? Does Sram sell the internals to do so? That would seem like a great way to go!

Also any hints on setting up my Fox DHX? My weight is 175 lbs and I like fast plush settings (not a big hucker). Right now I'm at 150 psi, rebound at 7 clicks out, propedal at 12 clicks out, bottom out is set at 1.5 turns out. Spring preload 1 turn in (about 30% sag).

    Thanks!

    G

Congrats, killer ride. I suggest a 888, 40 or Boxxer WC. All awesome forks, just personal preference from there.

Sweet bike but you're probably going to hate that seat after about 20 mins. At least I did.

yeah sram sells the parts. not as a specfic conversion kit or anything. but all you need is the new left stantion, the air spring system, and the top cap valve. any shop should be able to get them.

This is the second post I read with you implying the bike or frame in question isn't as good as an Orange 224. There's this post and you have another one in the thread where someone is putting together a Nicolai UFO-st.

Shut the fuk up with your fukking useless comments.

Happy B-Day and nice bike. For a fork get a Fox 40 and if you dont get a Fox 40 then get a 888.
