I don't live up there, but I have family up there. I haven't ridden any of the more technical trails there yet, but I know that they do exist from searching the trail reviews. I'm sure some locals will chime in soon.

You are going at the best time of the year to enjoy Humboldt. It can be very soggy at other times of the year.

And the weed is everything the rumors say it is

Pack your parts. You can get a new hardtail frame here at SuperGo for $ 150us or less.
Yeah I gotta question. You got any excuses tonight Roy ? -Antonio Tarver

There is room for it all, just ride what you like to on what you like to...that's freeriding. -rbn14

When we were there last some of the trails were really good so just don't get too stoned before your ride !!

Osagon trail just up the coast is fun too , you get to ride through a heard of wild ELK so keep that in mind .

If your up for a road trip Ashlan OR has some of the steepest freeride trails this side of Whistler

We will be on tour with the entire Nemesis Project team the first 2 weeks in July ans may be stopping in Arcada so drop me a e mail and we should go for a ride !

I have ridden the Ossagon trail which is based around Prarie Creek Park. It is not a freeride trail, but it is a very fun loop that travels right on the border of the beach for a while.

Riding through the elk is no joke at times (depends where they are grazing) - take them seriously and give them a decent amount of room especially if there are young around because they CAN easily kill you.

I am currently working on some freeride stuff in Fortuna. Last summer we buildt 200' of ladder 8' in the air and this summer we are going to be making many more stunts. http://jp3d.net/FortunaFreerideLow.wmv In arcata there is a downhill trail and a pretty technical ladder stunt trail going down a somewhat steep creek. You can find pretty good size dirtjumps in the community forest (some just outside it) also. Revolution Bike Shop is the only shop that is really free-ride orriented, and shane at sport and cycle in eureka/fortuna can also hook you up. Sport and cyccle isn't gonna sponsor you, revolution might (don't count on it).
