Well whats the frame? What are you going to be using the frame for?

Personally I would go for the Fox Vanilla RC but thats just me.

Hahaha that's not even a comparison. 5th isn't doing bike stuff now so you're pretty much screwed if you have a problem with one, plus they feel like ass because of the CVT system.

An enormous amount of people disagree with that asessment-mysef included. And rogressive is a sucesul business and will continue to service the 5th element should you bother to ask.

I always liked the feeling of the 5th Element as long as I run just enough pressure to give me a decent pedaling platform. Depending on suspension type, the amount of bob with the Van RC may drive you nuts. I've had the Van RC and Progressive 5th Element on my Bullit and for me the 5th wins out for most everything.

From my experience Fox shocks are more reliable, but you certainly shouldn't have any problem getting Progressive shocks serviced if need be.

Get the RC PUSHED and there is no question the Fox will be better and more reliable!

I've never ridden a Vanilla rc, but I've ridden 5th Elements & if your gonna be doin' any climbin' or extended trial ridin' I'd get a 5th. If you get th' Vanilla get it Pushed. From what I've heard you won't regret it.

Beyond that, I've heard good & bad 'bout Zokie shocks, but I can tell you 1st hand that you won't go wrong w/a Cane Creek Double Barrel. CCDB gets my vote.

The op still hasn't said what bike or the kinda riddin' he's doin' ???
