    FoX DhX on A Bullit

Is it possible to fit a DHX on a 2001 Bullit?

I would say yes judging by this post drumstix bullit. Now I know the one in the post is an 04 and yours is an 01, but I don't recall hearing about any changes to the shock mount that would make a difference between the years. But if you want to be completely sure I would suggest giving Santa Cruz a ring.

Well yours is definitely an older model, since it doesn't have the headtube/downtube gusset that the newer models do. I believe SC didn't start adding those until at least 02-03, but I could be mistaken.

Either way I think the DHX should fit.

I also have a '99 Bullit with the brake posts on the swingarm. All Bullits from '99 to '02 will take a 7.875" X 2.25" stroke or an 8.5" X 2.5" stroke shock. You just can't use the shuttle pushed all the way to the rear with an 8.5" size.

SC isn't quite as precise as most bike companies about exact year model breakovers. Bullits have been made since '99. Basically the '99s had brake posts and no "dent" in the swingarm stays for crank clearance. Most '00 models still had brake posts but received "dents" in the swingarm stays. Somewhere in the '01 model, the brake posts disappeared. In '03 the frame was upgraded with gusset plates at the headtube and some other not so obvious frame strengthening along with increased travel and 8" brake rotor capability. These are basic timeline guideposts for Bullits. They're not always exact.

I was looking at this fine Bullit and noticed that Thad has a Berkolonger recliner for a saddle!
