Found a brave new world in our backyard.....

We've been just getting into doing some jumps, drops and the like. Finding a whole new world on our regular singletrak rides in the Hills, but decided to go see what was happening in the Motorized area near the Badlands east of town. Never been out here, and didn't know what to expect, but there is some potential. Found a legal and easily accessed mini-rampage area. Lots of potential for us ATB types. I think it is about 99.99999% motorized users, so we gotta look at this stuff form different mindsets, but the lines are there. The motorized guys pretty much concentrate on goin UP this stuff and airing out off the lips....so, here is what we found. Just a sample.

    Rapid City, SD

Live in Rapid City, Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Deadwood, Custer, Black Hills, Ellsworth Airforce Base. About 400 miles North of Denver, 250miles south of Medora, ND, 1.5 million acres of heavily wooded USFS land, hills ranging from 3,000 feet elevation to 7,200 feet. Out to our east is an area of Badlands, much like Fruita/Grand Junction, less rocky, more like 18 road in Fruita, Buffalo Gap Grasslands, and Badlands, stretches roughly 800 miles from ND to Nebraska pretty much. Mayhem abounding. More exploration is in order. More pics of todays scouting.

And here is a sample of our front yard....

Just indicative of the forest riding in the Hills. Good variety.

Nice use of the fallen wood. I take it that you live in a mecca of a sort.

    some sorta Mecca....

....well, not really. More of an 'undiscovered paradise' or 'gem in the rough'.
