Flats kick ass-thanks for converting me

I have followed and read all the threads asking for advice regarding flats and clips. Then I hooked up with a riding partner who is sick to follow and watch, he tried to convince me. So no shin pads, shoes or pedals I never got round to it Blah Blah Blah!
So I promised myself to do it when I got my new rig and relocated. Did my research and invested in Tioga MX cause they got good reviews on performance and durabilty and had to go with 5tens - apparently, and I prefer riding shoes to standard shoes.
My biggest delay was my concern for adjustment time and pedalling efficiency. I dont get loads of time to ride and didnt want to loose any more to adjusting.
Shiaaaat no adjustment for me. Even though I have only ridden clipless, I havent slipped off my pedals once, touch woody, and I feel way more confident. I can dab if needed and maybe its just cause I am aware that I am not clipped in but I think my technique has improved cause I am not lifting with my pedals when jumping etc.
Best of all is that when I have crashed its been way easier to deal with it.
Shot for all the advice and recommendations I am stoked to be on flats.
    I just want to ride.

I ride one side clipped and one side flat 'cause I like keepin' it real.

Seriously, I switched over a while back and could not be happier, esp. since I started riding 5.10s . . . .

Will it make me more confident if I touch woody too?

i am up in JHB. there lots of parks opening up all over the place and thousands of miles of virgin single track. Lesthoto has been calling me it is virtually untouched single track. check it out on google earth you can even see the old horse/goat/human trails in the mountains.

CT rocks man why don't you come back ?

I think it's good to have both types of pedals as some trails will be more spd friendly while others more flat friendly. I like rockgardens and fast trails so I ride clipped but on some trails i unclip and ride like that thanks to the amazing combo of atomlab quickstep (spd with a platform that really works and has pins).
