What do you want MTBR to do about it? Come to your house and fix it for ya? If you got a keg of brew, we'll do it.

step 3: remove axle from pedal
step 4: clamp axle down somehow (depends on what it looks like, all pedals are different)
step 5: remove crank insert thingy with pliers

Yep Truvativ blew it on some of their inserts. They warrantied my crankset. I ended up using a dremmel to cut the insert off my pedal. I tried the red loctite bit, but I guess the pedal to insert bond was just too strong. Talk to your local shop, they may be able to hook you up.

Ok, my truvativs have the same problem, thread the insert back in to the crank and once its in look at the back side and you should see half of a hole in the crank arm and half of a hole in the insert, line those up and stick the tightest fitting allen wrench in there and then proceed ro remove the pedal, this happens alot wiith truvativs because the little piece of metal that goes in there always fall out

Already took a grinder to the insert to give it a flat surface so I could wrench it out.
Anyone want some slightly used cranks with no insert?

Go to a decent shop and get a helicoil in there. Your cranks are still good.

Too bad, a bit of jb weld, and you wouldn't have ruined them. No big loss though, if you are at all hard on your bike, those cranks don't hold up for long.

The problem started long before you ever considered taking your pedals off.

    1. Always put some grease in the pedal and in the crank when installing pedals.
    2. DO NOT crank the piss out of the pedal when you tighten it. A good snug fit is all that is needed when instaling pedals(and most other parts).
    3. Have a real mechanic work on your bike or buy some good manuals and learn how to work on your own sh!t.

It's funny that the best advice given here was paid no attention to.
