    elastic on shin guards....

ok i just went to my lbs and was looking at some new pads sets. they had some 661 and fox and some others. the foxs were othe 04 911 and they were tyte shiz. the neoprene straps stetched a bit but were snug as hell. Im 6'2" and have super long legs and they 911s didnt make it down to the bottom of my shins but they fit oh so good. then i saw some 661 racelites.... i got them out and took a look at them and the straps were tiny little super stretchy elastic things. i put it on and with them as tight as i could get them if i stomped my foot on the ground they slipped off. it was pathetic. then i was looking at their 661 race elbow guards. same thing. the elastic strips did nothing i could swing my arms around and they would move. and i tried on the large, then the med, and then the small and all the same thing. i dont see how anyone could buy these if they dont even stay on in the store. usually products are made to at least be showroom good. but these didnt even do that.

thats my rant about the 661 guards with elastic....horrible idea.

    neoprene straps=happy sam
    elastic straps=sad sam

    anyone else had this problem?

I just recently got the 661 race shun gaurds and they seem to stay on good. I also got the knee covers but haven't used them much. They are very hot and don't breath well at all, that is my issue. I weigh 200 lbs and got the MD, they are very tight though.

The ones that I have have 3 seperate velcro starps on them. Try looking at a pair, they work well.

Thats stupid, i was gonna get 661 shin guards but thankfully i got Fox 911's,their really nice. For elbow guards ive got Dainese, which are very very nice. The only 661 product ive got is a skate lid and its alright, not amazing kinda big profile.I dont think im gonna be buying any 661 products in the near future.
