    Drop off triple?

Hey now here is the deal. I have a raleigh ram xt 1500 and i am planing on upgrading to an new fork. I am thinking of the 2004 Marzocchi Drop off triple? Anyone ever ridden this fork or can think of another good fork for a low price. I want something about 6" or up. Any suggestions?

go for it, it will be bigger and way stronger than your current fork. plus it will inspire confidence.......

it may not be the hottest fork around, but it is a great for the budget minded....

Are they really that bad? i have felt one on a diamond back xts and it felt pretty plush and not too bad. You also have to remember that i am going from a psylo xc so i think it would be a upgrade.

i wouldnt suggest it because a triple crown fork will put a lot of pressure on your headest... if u do get it upgrade the headset aswell to something like a race face diablos or fsa pig if ur on a budget

I'd stay away from the DOT.

I rode one once up at Northstar on their rental Stinkys and it sucked.

Not only would it NOT hold pressure, but when I got it exchanged for one that was "mechanically sound" It still rode like a crap. It didnt soak up the small stuff very well, bottomed out on the big stuff alot (it was set as high as the psi could be set) and frankly didnt inspire much confidence anywhere on the mountain. I'd rather have had my Z.1 CR

if you can get it for 100 bucks, get it, and upgrade to an hscv cartridge for another 100 bucks. if your still not happy, you can also switch the air side to a jr-t spring to get dual springs.

    ...I like mine...

I have a DOT on my hardtail and acyually I love it. I use it a hell of alot more than my Fox Float 125. It likes double staircase gaps too- my Fox has never even felt one.
Good advice given on the headset. I recommend a King- It'll take some worries off your 'head'.

The elitists come out, I guess you can only play with an expensive fork. He won't find either of them used for anywhere near $100 as he quoted. Some people only have $$$ to make due with what they can get. I suppose on this forum you only a real rider if you spend the $$$. That being said, I do have money, and would never ride such a POS.

    hahahahha!

I DONT have money, and I would never buy such a pos either. I'll ride it if it's borrowed but you wont catch me spending another cent on the purchase or rental of one.

PM me if you have a source that has DOT's for $100 - I'm interested in picking one of these up on the cheap for some experimentation.
