    DHX 5.0 or 4.0??

Hey, I race downhill and was wondering if the dhx 4.0 or 5.0 coil would be better for the money, I have heard bad things about the propedal that the 5.0 comes with, and was just wondering which shock i would get more performance out of. Thanks

Get the 5.0, I've heard bad comments about the 4.0 as it lacks adjustments etc

for DH racing I actually turn the pro-pedal up a few turns...definately get the 5.0 or better yet get the Roco by Marzocchi....I am debating TST or World Cup right now

TST if you need plataform (like propedal), WC if you just want pure plushness

I have both and except for the lack of bottom out adjustment on the 4 they are the same. If you need the bottom out adjustment then get the 5 but if not and can get a good deal on a 4, then go that way. I presonally have not had a problem with either, the 4 is on my Stinky D and the 5 is on a 5 Spot. The 4 gets hammered harder and has performed well. The 4 even weighs less if that matters to you.

The 4.0 has the same Pro Pedal adjustment as the 5.0- it just lacks the bottom out adjuster. I've got a DHX 5 on my Bottle Rocket right now, with a Roco TST on the way. The DHX has been pretty good, but not great. I'll post up once I've got some time on the Roco.

SMT, I don't think they make a Roco TST big enough for the M3.

although usually a marzocchi fan,a pushed dhx4.0 will out perform a standard dhx 5.0.

also peat and rennie run pushed dhx 3.0.

Those probably started life as DHX 5s. Push takes off the bottom out adjuster, and the PP knob as well, I think, when they do their tuning.

i would get a 5.0 over a 4.0. you can run a plusher feeling shock with a more progressive feel than a 4.0

There's no good reason, other than maybe cost, to get a 4.0 over a 5.0. The 5 just adds a bottom out adjuster- other than that, they're the same thing.
