    DH wheel size?

    major newb ? but what is more common for dh racing, 24" or 26"? in alot of these vids i've been seeing, it looks like they are rollin on 24's...

    Racing is 26'' Only! BCD has an idea about a 29'' DH bike but he's one of a kind

    sorry lol for the bs thread, its just i saw that norco had some nice race bikes but they were 24" and i was like wtf lol and i've seen the same on some other brands.

    a lot of companies make "kids" DH bike that run 24" wheels.

    Hey!

    For the record, I built the first 29" DH bike. So we're two of a kind, Alex and me.

    Probably not something that will ever be a big seller, though. I'm realistic.

    24 inch = quick acceleration, stong rim, rolls over stuff fair/poor

    26 inch = strong rim, rolls over stuff good, cheaper, able to get more selection of tires, generally in long run easier to pedal then 24 inch

    29 inch = harder to get up to speed, but once there easier to pedal, rolls over stuff way better and you need less suspension for same rock gardens, major draw backs, side forces on rims and rims being heavier to support extra length (not a good fit in DH/FR IMO)
    the trick is ENJOYING YOUR LIFE EACH DAY, don't waste them away wishing for better days
