    DH trip

    Hey all

I am mostly a flat lander who rides light trails on a sweet hardtail and the roads. my little brother invited me out to montana to do some downhilling with him and i'm looking for a way to not rent a bike. On of the guys in my shop has a large big hit ('04 i think) and said I could borrow it. I am 5'8 on a good day and I don't have a problem riding the thing I am just concerned about the various ways I can dismount(unwillingly) a DH bike. any thoughts as to whether I should ship this thing out there and try it or try and find something else.

it'll cost yu 100-200 to ship/bring bike with you - how many days are you riding? If only 1 or 2 then just rent. If you want to have fun and exnjoy the experience, a correctly sized bike will make a huge difference. On an oversized bike, you will have less controll and be alot more likely to crash and generally not have as much fun.

not an absolute, but a serious consideration.
