    DH Frames?

I want to build up a more DH oriented frame in the next couple months. What are some good DH oriented(not freeride) frames. They can't be super expensive but i'd say about $2000-2200 for the frame.

Is the stab available as just a frame? I was thinking maybe a demo, and what is an RMX?

I think the best frame for you would be a 2005 Giant DH Comp.

Ventana El Cuervo would be at the higher end of your range, but completey worth looking into though.

Fully US built, all in house. Great quality control. Rippen bikes.

Redesigned new model. A reveiw here: http://www.pinkbike.com/news/Prototype-El-Cuervo.html

You can get a IH Sunday (great frame and DW linkage) already built at Performance for CHEAP.
For $2000 there are a bunch of frames you can look at. I would not recommend single pivot frames. Get something with VPP, the DW linkage (Iron Horse) or some other parallel linkage. Look in the mtbr reviews for DH frames. If you are willing to spend 2k - stick to small builders - support the little guy!

For 2200 $ you can buy a good dh frame. Don't buy any single pivots frames, that kind of suspension look really poor when we compare it with the new technologies like vpp, fsr, dw etc.
    My propositions
v10 (if you can get little more money)
    iron horse sunday
    maybe dhcomp

It depends, how much travel you want to have, what geometry you prefer more, weight of the frame, it depends on you
    Peace

with the speed you are able to carry due to the rearward arcing travel, it tracks more like a greyhound. (with a smashed bearing, i suppose it's anybodys guess what happens.) but since it's replacement and the subsequent abuse that it's been thru over the past year and a half, i can guarantee that this frame will easily be the strongest and fastest bike you have ever had the pleasure to ride. the rear end is as solid as they come, i have no time for flexy frames (i don't have many requirements when it comes time for frame specifications except frame flex, it has deterred the purchase of many a frame for me. even quite a few that i thought were going to be the tits)

    turner dhr
    iron horse sunday
    New trek session 10
    santa cruz v10

These are some of my faves and should be in your price range

Norco dh and kona stabs are cheap and ride well.

    Don't tell Peaty or Cedric.
    YIKES!

And yes, the Giant DH is a single pivot and it was designed for one thing only, DH racing.

About peat and gracia : They get money for riding on this bikes, so if you had a choice, not get paid and ride on a best dh frame or get paid and ride on a single pivot frame, and Peat dosen'y ride an orange if you don't know

Rover Nick - If you can try out couple frames and see what you like, it depends on everything how I said my last post.

The DH Comp is a single pivot.... a linkage actuated single pivot... as is the Commencal that Cedric is riding now....

Finally it appears we agree on something... Maybe it's because I decided to spell retarded correctly.
