wow very cool, want to see the jump, or g-out the came off of to get that.
The top linkage on the demo is ridiculous, its nearly vertical

Also interesting to see rider positions in that situation. Are these pro riders, I'm guessing they are, I would have thought they would bend their legs more to flow better, but maybe they are already coming back up to hit that next lip.

they are pro riders are im sure, not 100%, that the EVIL is not available to the public yet? you id it a completely different bike?

you can almost guess the tire pressures from the pics, looks like the commencal rider has the lowest pressure while the demo rider has the highest pressures, or at least that's how it looks, any ideas what pressures do you people think they are running?

EDIT: lol after looking at the pictures agian, those legs WOW, not sexy though

Shocks and Forks look goofy when they are all compressed! Cool perspective, don't see too many shots like that.

Looks like the spring is just buckling up towards the rider?

RP23's don't have piggyback reservoirs, and because it's a reverse piggyback I'd have to say Manitou?

OP: Under what circumstances was that jump taken?
The shocks were fully compressed without no braking forces whatsoever or anything else, speed must've been brutal!

Internet sucks. My replies are always misunderstood. Aint sayin its a RP23, just looks like one cause that compressed shock looks so small.

Yeah it does look that way, at 1st i thought it may be the lens. But upon further investigation it looks like the spring is the only thing bent.

Id have to say that the shock on the Demo looks like a strangely chambered Fox shock, you can make out their colours and logos on the res.

I see what you're saying, but I think you're wrong. It looks like there's the texture of a preload collar in there. I think it's a DHX coil.

I was going to agree... and then i realized how trivial this debate was. With that said, i vote DHX coil.

Well the commecal is also completely bottomed out with a fox 40, so I think he just landed harder than the rest which is why the tire is more compressed

I'm betting they're just hitting a high speed jump, not anything super crazy. I mounted my GoPro cam off the seat tube and was very surprised at the amount of compression I got on the face of jumps (berms too). It's really cool to see the stills though, I bet it was tough getting the timing right.

No, it's because that 40 was set to 178mm. Clearly evidenced by the amount of stanchion that was visible.

Good thing the new Boxxer's are out. Those old ones are sure starting to look outdated. (I said "look". I know they are still nice enough forks to actually ride...).

These are really cool pics. Although it would also have been nice to see the same setup with a bit more of the rider showing in the frame (to get a feel for the situation they are in as well).

Tracer VP's are All Mountain frames, while the Tazer VP is a 4X frame.
If this were a 4X race then why are they racing full blown DH racing rigs?

On the Freecaster.tv course walk they mentioned that Minnaar might be ridding a carbon Blur XC, the host also mentioned that some Intense riders were taking their Tazers instead of their M6.

Anyone have a picture of the trail where these shots are taken? I'd like to see what they are going into or comming out of to make their bikes compress like that.

It's two sets of doubles that are really squished together, you can see it as the last obstacle in this video:

    From the video:

"There's really-there's so many different lines through this rock garden"

"It's eating people up everywhere at this Sea Otter rock garden"
