I think those frames used to sell at Costco... 250 bucks when new. It's not really a freeride bike. With that sort of budget, I would look to pick up a used complete that is more suitable for what you want to do.

I'm not sure that frame even has disc mounts.

Either way you look at it, it's an inadequate machine. It's a department store bike. Cheaply and poorly constructed. Poor materials used. Poor design and geometry. What do you expect out of a full suspension bike that sold new for 250 bucks?

Either way I would just say look for a used bike...

And thats for the 1999 model, if you have the 1999 model then your bike is worth maybe 50 bucks whereas the other reviews are much newer and show the current price of a D50.

How do you know which one it is? The reviews show no pictures or specs.

Is that it? There are no disc mounts on that frame. It's a department store bike. And if it is from 1999, it's probably very fatigued.

Even if it was a 800 dollar bike in 1999, that was 8 years ago... It's pointless to put that much money into it.

Besides... don't you have that other bike? You kept asking us if it was okay to put a DC on it.

well what do u guys think prebuilt or build up. if i do custom i will buy that p.1 frame (thanks will for listing) and buy 1600 dollars worth of parts or buy a prebuilt... what do you guys think? i think im leaning towards custom just because i can pick all the parts i want.

for that budget you can get a 7point3 at rscycle for 1600 or a really nice used bike.
