    Crank problem

    my bearings are contaminated...my right crank arm came off easily, but my left crank arm doesnt want to come off. no matter what i do, it just doesnt want to move...any suggestions on how to get it off. i dont feel like draggin my bike to my LBS. im running truvativ holzfellers.

    uhh....you're using crank pullers right? and generally, BB bearings are not servicable.

    yeah, i figured they werent...i have a spare BB from my other bike that i dont ride...still need to get the crank arm off. i dont have the pullers so ill just need to wait until monday...i was hoping to find a way to take the arm off with out pullers. i dont think ill be able too. anyway, thanks.

    proper tools with the proper knowledge; its possible to damage the cranks without using the puller.

    That's one of the few things I truly love Shimano for....having self-removing crank bolts on my XT cranks.

    well you can get those for any crank really...when did Shimano start including them?

    yeah i really doubt they came with them, very un-Shimano-like. Especially since it must add 2 grams....
