New question here. chossing new bike

    hey all
im having trouble deciding what to buy for my new bike. i have a budget of $1800 and I want something that will last. the main use for my bike will be freeride and little bit of downhill and urban. what is the best bike you could spec for these needs and my budget?
or would you recomend a complete bike?

    cheers

you talking american cash right? you can grab a Gemini 1000-2000 for around that price 3-4 way manitou shock pedals great, lightweight it's one of the best do it all bikes around in my opinion. fully pimped out for around 37 pounds 7 inches rear, 5-7 in the front depending what build/deal you can find my bro paid 3000 tax in Canadian for his Gemini 2000 with Sherman Breakout plus, 4 way manitou shock, mav 321 rims a really solid build.

If you're talkin $1800 AUS, seriously look into the Norco H/T series freeride bikes! The Norco Rampage is a great bike at $1850 or so and it's ohhhh so nice to ride. I have an '03 Norco Sasquatch and it's been one of the best bikes I've ever ridden!

Otherwise, I'd get the FRM125 because you gotta support aussie companies, even if they are made overseas. They have refined the bike and made it ride really well this year.

... and if we just ... go hardtail

find a good HT frame like Morphine or imperial or a soul cycles Titan! and build it up from that. try to get a marizachi Z1 or Z150 or a Sherman firefly. shimano XT series stuff and maxxis highrollers or something else big. but yeah. for 1800 you can build an amazing HT freeride bike compared to an ok FS freeride bike. but hey thats just my 2 cents.
