    Chainguide/8-speed compatibility

Hey guys, I want to put a chainguide on my old Cameleon (no ISCG tabs) in conjunction with some old 8-speed parts. Since 8-speed chains are wider I thought rubing might be a concern. Are there any particular chainguides I should steer clear of? What do you recomend? Weight is of some concern but I want some sort of bashguard (either traditional or taco style). I do plan on pedaling this bike long distances so I want it to be efficient... Thanks!

Any of the current guides will be fine with 8 speed. Just use an e-type ISCG adapter.

ISCG opens up some options, and it sometimes makes spacing and adjusting easier.

agreed. just make sure ya understand the diff between iscg types and then get the right match between frame, guide and adaptor.

you might get some additional rub with 8 spd but nuthin id worry about. those points are plastic afterall. the old mr dirt gizmos were 8 spd specific and besides bein a touch heavy and louder than current guides, they work wonderfully. want 1? mines close to new and for sale. pm me.
    No, I'm NOT back!
