A boy, a bike, and a whole lot of mud...

Well, today was the last day of my finals... was supposed to go DJing but for some unseen reasons, the session got cancelled and the place was occupied with some other stuff (locals putting up christmas decorations and big tree and stuff). So since i've already got my gear in school with me, might as well go ride anyways... what did i do??? Rode XC with my fullface and knee pads...

Went up to Volmeer Peak up in Berkeley. The climb was great as the tarmac was still wet from the morning rain. Rolling resistance was low despite me running Minions. The fog was thick and the tempreture was relatively low which made my climbing even easier... Didnt even start sweating til i nearly reached the top. Anyways, wen up to Volmeer and rode down the Seaview Trail. Conditions were great. Muddy but it was awesome (just kept thinking of dave and his stay off the brakes words). Rolled down with sliding in some places. The moment mud started flying into my face, i just started smiling. And dang, Minions are good... They held pretty well on the wet lose rock and mud...

Anyways, rolled down to inspiration point and decided to ride the meadows... Well, let's just say that was a very bad idea... The Meadows unlike Seaview was not mud... it was clay... I went down about 1/4 of it and my rear locked up and i started going into a rear wheel drift on a straight way. I looked at my rear tyre and it was horrible, the clay was way stronger then my Deore discs at the back... lol. Forced the wheels to move and started rolling down again... all in all, a good ride... Cleaning up was not so fun though... took me 2 hours to clean me and my bike... lol

Shifter cable, derailleur pivots, dought it but possibly shifters. Most likely you need to lube the cables.

i hate it when your rear wheel, and arch on the upper chainstay get so buitl up wtith clay and rocks, the rear wheel barely spins, on my stinky it was the worse when i rode with a 26, now with a 24 it is fine

My new ride has mad mud clearance over the last one. If I bog this sh*t down I;m leavin' it on the trail 'cause it'll probably have 20lbs of mud!
