Better than Rampage? Better than Life Cycles?

So there really is no shortage of quality films being produced right now (we are the lucky ones!!!) - and this looks off-the-charts, this-one-goes-to-11 kind of sick:

    <object width='500' height='281'><param name='allowFullScreen' value='true' /><param name='AllowScriptAccess' value='always' /><param name='movie' value='http://www.pinkbike.com/v/161366' /><embed src='http://www.pinkbike.com/v/161366' type='application/x-shockwave-flash' width='500' height='281' allowFullScreen='true' AllowScriptAccess='always' /></embed></object>

Man, that line is just pure evil...I don't know what they were thinking, even attempting it...let alone sticking it...

Having not seen Life Cycles yet, makes me double-stoked - I have them both to look forward to!

    Long live MTB filmmaking.

Life Cycles is a totally different film on a totally new (sort of) level. . . less big moves and terrain, more about the experience and just killing it with the cinematography. . . when they say it's like planet earth. . . it is!

    Exactly.

And this one from Freeride looks like it has the potential to be a bit different as well, although I'm sure it's full of big moves (what I mean is that hopefully we won't just end up with NWD 11 with extra "culture"...).

Wow. It's like the mountain biking version of the snowboarding flick "Deeper."

Lifecycles premiered this week, right? Has anybody seen any reviews/comments on it anywhere yet? I have no doubts it'll be sweet, but I'm curious to see what people are saying.

Saw it at the IB premiere. Loved all of it. I see some being disappointed and labeling it as being too artsy due to the cinematography. The ridings still fast and there are some good hits, and some of the trail sections look amazing. . . but those were all supporting parts that played along with the lighting and cinematography to tell a story.

Completely agree with this. If people go into LC expecting to see a film of constant riding they will be very disappointed. The cinematography in LC was really impressive. Pushed the whole POV for watching bikes to a whole new level. And the whole story through the film was fairly decent if you paid attention. Would not be a film that I would throw into the DVD to have just playing in the background though.

I think there was some discovery HD channel that had that footage and a bunch more (about everyone getting sick over there in mongolia, cam mccaul almost dying). It was some sort of "extreme" sports filming show. really good stuff.

Yeah, it's called Focused, and it's an amazing show. It's all about the camera men, and how they get the shots. Check these out:
