    Bighit, Bullit, Stinky...all good builds.

If you want new, try a Perp 3. Doesn't have top of the line components, but you can ride it and then upgrade as you see fit.

Non of these bikes are close to 35lbs. How about the Giant Reign X2. Very good parts spec for $2500.00.

^^^ just what I was thinking...
Best parts for the money and a great frame, too
Its also a lot lighter than all those bikes mentioned before.
Go with the reign x1 for $2600 or the reign x2 for $2000.
each fits your price rang e and i dont think youll be disappointed

Great bike for the price for sure!

It isn't as light as 35 lbs, BUT I doubt any bike in that price and weight (35lbs) range would come with the same heavy duty parts.

Reign X2 would be a good choice, but needs some upgrades to take on more freeriding.

Hmm cheapest model is $3500 AND it has crap for a parts spec. The Reign X1 is nearly $1000 cheaper and has a better parts spec on it. Better riding frame too. My buddy with an SXT with Pushed and tuned DHX 5 says his bike sucks compared to a Reign X with even just the DHX 3 on there. He's always complaining about how it doesn't feel as plush on square edged hits.

Specialized is THE worst value in bikes these days, way over-hyped and priced.

    '06 7point5.

Craigslist for typically around $1000. Take the extra $1000 and get new brakes, or a new fork. And you're all set.

im hoping i can go to my lbs today and ride the stinky, coiler, and reign today. unfortunatly none of my lbs's carry norco or high end mongooses. of those three what would be my best option. i will have a few hills to climb but, im not to concerned about it. i mostly want a bike i can mob on downhills, but is still huckable. thanks again

For $2000 and if you are planning to upgrade fork, brakes etc, yes, otherwise the X1 is well specced for $2500.

I would guess Canondale has a better rep for customer service and frame quality.

Perp 3 is an incredibly ready bike for FR.

    Congrats bro!

You'll have some nice days of shredding on that sucker. Just don't let it bring your grades down and taken away.

What is the weight on the khyber? I read the review on the moongoose site and and it said it was about 38lbs and that it was not a great bike to climb.

I am looking at getting a Khyber for an AM bike. I have a Bullit that I ride for FR and DH.
    I whip these -

    05 SC Bullit, 05 Marz 66

Also, look at the Iron Horse 6point series
    Looky her at randall scott:
    http://www.rscycle.com/s.nl/it.A/id....19&category=55
Even though the reign x1 is a nice bike, consider the 6point6.
It has 6 inches of travel and you can put a 8.75x2.75 shock in the rear to put it up to 7 inches without changing the bike's geometry.(It comes with a 8.5x2.5 shock)
It comes with great components including a better fork, rear shock, etc. etc.
The only reason you wouldn't want to get it if you need a 17" frame. They only have 15" and 19" left.

Holy schit that's a good price for a 6point6! Insane!

x1 is a nice build, but he's right, the 6p6 is even better speced and cheaper!
