Skeggs is tech XC/All-mountain terrain. The main trailhead starts at a high elevation. Lots of XCers, hikers, walkers. It's a hot-spot, so bike carefully.

I'm down for a ride this saturday...Demo, or Solatice (where is solitice?), as long as its a DH ride. Bikes not equipped to an all-mtn type of riding (Skeggs) though.

Sorry the Demo ride for this week, the weather kinda screwed things up.

Is it doable a DH bike (heavy, single chain ring) or will I need an all-mtn type bike.

Uh I need to go into more detail regarding Solstice's condition:

If you have a DH Bike: Bring It
If you have pads and a full face: Bring Em
If you have alcohol: Bring LOTS of it.

We rode Solstice today (12/28/06) and I gotta say, it was CRAZY. The recent rain and wind storm made it a rediculous trail, here are some things thats different about it:

    1. Rutted/Gutted out: Its actually kinda nice, but some parts are really gutted and rutted, so there is a little bit of danger.
    2. Rocky: The rain washed some dirt away with it, the trail is pretty rocky and technical. The one noticeable technical section is pretty damn technical...be advised.
    3. Crap Everywhere: The wind blew down branches, logs, you name it...in fact, there are about 3 spots where you need to go OFF the trail and go around these trees that fell.

Other then that, the trail was a blast today! Have fun, don't go out of control, and enjoy...if you guys want more info lemme know, today was my first time on a bike in like....6 months?

10:30 Saturday sounds good, and who's going to make for sure? And were are we going to meet. Also, specific directions from South Bay.

I'll be driving a blue Suburo W/ black Intense M1, grey fork on top, or red X-terra (bike will be inside of truck).

Fairfax across from Sonshine bike shop there is a huge parking lot used to be a Albertson. There is a Java Hut in the middle of the lot park behind it.

After hours of due diligence, on many websites, from the usgs to goggle earth, I am certian my way up will be far more difficult than the usual. I'm just lazy and would rather ride my bike an extra hour than drive 25 min. plus its all on dirt. see you up top!
