looks just like our amour with grey (instead of black) plastics....

second look, the mesh looks more dianese instead of the net on our stuff, logan always complains that his dianese gear is too hot....

    "Our" armour?

    You work for rockgardn/661/tld etc?

If so that's a pretty good gig. Does everyone get to come in with the weekend's boo boos and say "our next design needs padding HERE?"

planning on getting the new stuff

WCH thicker mesh so it doesn't tear and all the pad to pad conections are with a spandex strechie material

We got a sample jacket from Azonic, unfortunately I wear a large and the one we got is a medium. It seems pretty snug and doesn't have the sag factor that most other brands have if you're on the skinny side. I don't think it has as much protection in some spots as the old Z5 jacket, but the spine protector doesn't look like it's going to explode when you put it in the washing machine (seriously, I know more guys who lost $180 that way . . . ).

There's no hard protection over the bicep/tricep area, which most other manufacturers don't offer anyway (other than the 661 pre-'05 Pressure Suit). The other noticeable difference is the height of the chest padding. The Z5 jacket had hard/soft coverage well past the rib cage (I'm 6'1" and it seemed a little long). The new armor is a bit shorter but still should cover all the bones for anybody under 6'4", but now it won't catch on the kidney belt and push itself up into your throat.

hmm the Z5 never pushed up to my throat and i liked the lower rib protection....How is the velcro belt?? Is it wider?? better velcro??/ My old one I half spun it and used the other side when it stopped sticking
