I'm pretty sure that Dirt Focus was not there, since he doesn't have the race on his schedule. Also, he has not posted the pictures from the last Fontana race, yet.

www.ridesb.com only took pictures of the cross country and the cyclocross and the roadies, if only there was hope... forget about it and blaze a nickle, now that's real freeriding....

888 had a better feeling and was smoother throughout the travel, but overall the bike is better with the boxxer because of the lower bb/steeper headangle. The boxxer feels like crap just bouncing on it but is awesome on the trail. 888 was more adjustable and easier to adjust, but once it's dialed it doesn't matter anyways. 888 looked cooler, though.

That's cool. Firestone course would have been fine though, average time was about at 1:35, Just a few little jumps and then its over.

The whole course is really fun, super short, but realllly fun. Sprint, step down, step down, ridgeline sprint, rock jump, bigger step down, burm right, burm left, little step down, long left turn, tiny uphill to double, jump into big g-out, 2 tight burms, sprint, fun drop, steep section, huge berm, table top, 2 mini doubles, then that jump in the pic, berm, jump, stepdown sprint finish.

Gnar. What i will be racing most is the Plattikill series and im told they cut a new trail every race, but the riders, while racing actually make the trail . So none of that sick stuff...

Yeah, at the last little step down right before the finish. I also jacked my ankle too. I think what you heard about was my friend on his final race run falling on the same jump and cracking his collar bone also, he slid on his head for quite a long time.

No, this race is held on a hill at a vineyard outside of town, not a real DH course but it is super fun. We have some of the rockiest single track DH you have ever seen here.

yeh, every race track we have is like a never ending rock garden top to bottem, not at all tame or open, for once a nice fast open flowwing race course would be nice to race on...

    ahaha. 2:34 and 2:31 = 3:05

And I think the winning time in my class was 2:28 and 2:26.

So I got a lot of sprinting issues to deal with.

    ahaha. 2:34 and 2:31 = 3:05

And I think the winning time in my class was 2:28 and 2:26.

So I got a lot of sprinting issues to deal with.
    You mean 1:34 and `1:31? I got a 1:32 and a 1:34, I could have done better if I would have sprinted.
You remember that kid on the stuff with the red fork in your class? Someone told me on that first fall he had in his first run he fractured his elbow and broke some bones in his hand...crazy.

ahaha I am dumb sometimes I meant to put a "1" there. anyways that kid didn't hurt himself cuz he raced the second time. He seemed fine to me. Just a little dusty.

??? presumably you're not talking about the tracks at northstar or mammoth. sounds like santa barbara has some sick trails. i've ridden romero a couple times and that was sweet, but i haven't had the opportunity to check out any of the other stuff.

You guys consider wide open double track DH???

Just playin, looks tight, although after living up in Washington and riding the shore, California looks way cake now. I do miss those days of ripping fast lines because of all the openess though...

Oh NO You didn't!! It's just that California is probably the easiest place in the world to sue someone, so there's not many DH races going on. The ones that are being held are smaller, and usually the land owner is'nt real hip to WC worthy courses. Infact before this race the land owner got up and spoke to us all saying that he was "scared as hell". Dont get me wrong, Firestone was a fun race, actually it was a super f!#$in fun race, but there's just not always much to work with. We may not have the huge mountains that Ohio has , but I think we've still got a pretty good handle on what a DH course should look like.

yell i haven't been to mammoth, but have been to northstar. multiply thr rocks on karpiel by like 2 or 3 and you have tunnel. although there is a little 100 yard section that has no rocks on it.

That last step down was one the better parts of the course...you could go big if you launched from the right and sort of hipped it to the left. Harder dirt, better transition. It was fun overall, great course.

The guy I saw was wearing a white t-shirt...all dirty and sh*t. He really look freaking bummed out. Surprisingly enough..he was mellow. "oh, yeah, I think I brok my collar bone" We were like..."oh, yeah, maybe you should go to the hospital?"

Yeah, tricky dirt in some spots. I was on the straight away towards that step down/drop. pedalling for the full speed to clear it by 15 to 20 feet and my front tire slid a little to the right...pulled me and my bike right off the trail. Left knee has very little skin on it now. That was a blast for my two race runs...knee pad rubbing on raw flesh. Good times.
