    another stolen bike...

just getting the word out in the chico area...

my Planet X Pitbull was stolen from the bike rack right in front of my dorm. I had a chain and cable around the fork and frame. They cut the cable and just undid the fron axle and made off with everything except the front wheel (I don't know why the hell I didn't figure the part with fork out). Anyway it's a white Planet X Pitbull, Fox Vanilla R, MRP Chainguide, and some perfection cyclery stickers on it. That's all the distinguishing features I can think of for now. This just pissed me off because I was getting back into riding again after a year off and it was awesome... now I'm seriously considering borrowing a bike and baiting it and then wait there with a baseball bat in the bushes...i'll put some pics up soon...also does anyone know if this would fall under insurance even if it wasn't at my house?

Of course it was at your house.

That's why you have homeowners or renters insurance..........in case things get stolen from your house..........which is what happened.

Keep an eye on the nut (obviously).

It was definitely at your house.

Make sure they get this right in the police report.

    Don't argue.

You have coverage under a Homeowner's policy or a Renter's policy. If your parentsown a home and have insurance you should be able to claim it on their policy. You'll have to file a police report.

Police report was the first thing I did...thanks for the info though...

what really pisses me off is that they said most of the bike thefts were done by meth addicts (maybe oroville?) who sell them so they can buy more meth...so my bike that I had worked for all throughout highschool and had been my babywas jacked from me so some ******* could get high a few more times...

I'm seriously getting some people together and we're going to try the bait bike idea...the same way police do with stolen cars. Because seriously I'm going to get a bit of revenge on someone for this...all bike thiefs are *******s. I'll let you guys know how it goes because who knows it make a bit of a difference.

EXACT same thing happend to my bighit outside the dorms... was there for just one night before the storage unit kicked in and bam. Here's the thing, got my bike back. some idiot tried to sell it craigslist for $500 so I had to cops track em' down and slap him with the ol' felony (cuz it's worth over whatever amount). So check craigslist.org ALOT and check ebay ALOT and maybe u'll get it back...
