New question here. Another, "Which bike?" question

I have been looking high and low for a freeride/dh bike in the classifieds and was looking to pay around 1,000. I have found a few bikes and I wanted to get your opinion on which would be the best for me. I am 6ft 4in and 220lbs and I will be mostly jumping off stuff around my campus and some dh trails on the side.

    Here is my list
    1. 01 specialized s-works dh (not sure what to offer)
    2. 01 GSR mach 9 (around $1000)
    3. 03 Ironhorse sgs expert ($850)
    4. 99 Intense m1 (around $1000)

I was also wondering if a size med frame would be too small for me?

sgs's are pretty badass, and thats a good deal on one...they are a little heavy, but what the hell

another thing to think about is how old these bikes are. the 01's and the 99 moght be a little more beat and have suspension play.

    i'd say ironhorse.

yeah I was leaning toward the sgs expert because of the price . Does anyone know about the 01 s-works dh or the GSR mach 9 ?? I saw the s-works in the Kranked 4 video so it must be a decent bike. Also the GSR is said to have 14 inches of travel with a 2.75 inch shock, Is that just a gimmick type thing?

About the size thing. I'm 6'2'' and I wouldn't ride a medium. You can toss it around better, but to me it's not worth it for the cramped feeling.

Definitely get the SGS (assuming condition, etc. is good). Wow, 14" of travel (very unnecesary in the first place) on a 2.75" shock? That doesn't sound like a very good design!

Go with the SGS expert it has 7 inches of travel and a Fox Vanella shock. Trust me you will break before it does. And look at that deal $850 THATS AWSOME if its in good shape. But make sure you buy what you want not what other people say because in the end ur riding it not us. {we usualy lean towards are favorit bike} Take care man hope you get ur new bike soon... and post some picks for us to enjoy

Hey , thanks for the advice guys. The 67 is a very tempting deal but I hear they are not putting fr150s on them anymore . I think I will go for the sgs .
