    Another '08 66 thread - Official Weight

I know some people were interested in the actual weight of the '08 66 RC3. I just got my hands on another one, and the weight is 7.15 pounds (3243 grams) with the axle and uncut 1 1/8" steer tube. A far cry from the 5.96 lbs listed on their website, however, I believe those weights are without the steer tube. I thought steer tubes were only around 250 grams though, so that means the fork would only weigh 2950 grams according to Marz. Ah well, it is what it is. Just thought I'd let people know.

    Not really!!

I'm an MZ boy and I think the listed weights to actuall weights are frikkin redicilous this year!!! Before it was a 250. gram difference or 1/2lb. Now it's over a pound and everything is short on oil.

5.96lb to actuall - 7.15lb Over a pound give me a ****ing break!!!

Now if some 1 could get there hands on a 888RC3 and weight that baby it would make me happy.

Some 1 said there WC was 8.3 compared to 6.98 listed. So the RC3 has to be up there. Let the E-Drama go on.

If you weigh it without the QR axle, oil, steertube and no spring it may shave that phantom pound. None of those are actually important are they?

I am just SOOOOOO excited to get my 66. the mainpage has 3 threads right now all about the new marzocchi stuff being kinda crappy. GREAT!

Not to stir the pot but... If you get the weights from the tech section or whatever it is they are spot on 2980g + steerer 255g = 3235g = 7.13 lbs. There is no doubt the weights listed on the actual product pages is 100% incorrect but they do have the correct weight listed else where. Is this their way to get out of false advertising or something?

    Yah that dose look right.

But then I did the 888RC3 WC, guy said his weight was 8.3lb.

    Listed at 3170 + 255 = 3425 - 7.5lb

Then I thought maybe he was talking about the RC3 not WC but still that's 7.6.

& they have the difference as 50grams WC vs RC3. But it's listed as over Half a pound on the main page.

WTF am I smoking crack or are they.

the noob weighed that fork with a stem and axle. dh stems easily weigh 250g.

you don't see people weighing frames with the rear axle and a seatpost...

He weighed it with the integrated stem.

I weighted my 888ata out of box with axel/stem and uncut steer and it was 7.1lb. 250grams off MZ web-site just like it was supposed to be.

So now MZ is taking off the axel this year & the Integrated stem???

Just face it Blasko your RC3 is going to be a 9lb boat anchor!!!

    pwnt!

I think it's a stretch to weigh the fork without the steertube, but I'll give it to them since there are 1 1/8" and 1.5" sizes...however, who the hell is going to run the fork without a spring and axle???? I don't know if your theory is correct about that, but if it is, that is absolutely f*cking ridiculous. They need to cut the BS and list the real weight on the product page for christ's sake.

hang on to your 07 Zokes! My friend just got his 888 RC3. it feels pretty good actually, but i think my 07 66 RC2X feels better. We will see if they stand up. We did check the oil, it was a touch down in the 1 leg. Other than that it looks great

Maybe you weighed it with the integrated stem, axle, brake adaptor maybe, full length steer tube.

Not trying to call you out here, just all companies like to take shortcuts to make their product seem better, lighter etc.

While I have had to pedal a 42lb bike up hills and I have the legs to do so, I would still rather not have to pedal more weight than neccesary. Not to be a grammer Nazi, capitalized letters and complete sentences make long posts much easier to read.
