Angel Fire Chile Challenge Roll Call

Who all's planning on going to this super badass race that's only a bit over a week and a half away? We oughta have all the mtbr folk meet up at some point to meet/ride or whatever. I'll be sporting this beast in Jr-Sport DH.

I have a question, what tires to run? I have all new Michys coming (16, 24 and 32), DHF 2.5, DHR and a Highroller.

I would go with maxxis or something like it with a thick casing. I ran the Michys last year and their casing is kinda thin for the sharp rocks on the top rock section. They are great tires for racing because they are fast and corner really well but this course needs something that can stand a helluva beating.

I flatted two michys last year so I will be on a mobster in front and Minion in the rear this year.

Tony I hope for the sake of your health that you aren't gonna run that Kujo on the front for angelfire, remember what happened at the Superfly up in horsetooth?

Will, don't use an IRC Kujo like pictured on my bike. It can't hookup at all at Angelfire. I plan to be using some Minions/Intenses not sure in which order or mix/match and all.

Last year Minions and HighRollers worked well there. I ran Minions (2.5 ST back with 2.7 SRY front) on both the Alpha and Beta courses last year, but you really need good casings for the rough course. I also ran a HighRoller there in the back for one of the races as well.

Parking lot. Hopefully a skanky RV, and maybe a tent. Erics coming too.
