My father-in-law painted it. We used a black primer only then put on several layers of clear coat. We got the paint at on auto body paint shop and did it in a large garage. We had no oven so it has been sitting with loose cables and bolts so it can cure.

My friend had 3 of his bikes powdercoated by a local motorcycle and car guy. He did a awesome job, chemical strip and powder coat for $125 or $150 for each bike.

I had my frame chemical stripped and then hard anodized by Absolute Finish. They do a great job on bike frames, as one of their employees is a rider. About $150 total, and my swingarm was a different color than the front triangle. Google them and you can get a website. I highly recommend anodizing; it's lighter than paint, almost impossible to scratch, looks pimp.

My bottle rocket, started life raw, I pulled it apart, masked andlaid my decals down then shot the green then let that dry, pulled the decals off and cleared the hell our of it.

i used duplicolor clear coat and ace brand forest green rust proof paint.

Dont know if they have a rider now, ansy is a xc'r and the other dude I think does BMX or tries.
I used to work there and did a slew of the custom stuff from camos to wild etched graphics.
Andy is a pretty square guy so I assume they are still kicking out decent work.

Anyone ever do their frame with just cans, or is it better to pay more money for a pro job?

My friend and I painted mine. A lot of work went into it. Lots of sanding and grinding to get the old paint off, then lots of primer, lots of paint, and lots of clear. It's a mirage paint, color changing!

just got these from my friend who is painting my frame, I was going to go for a retro look, have red bands on the seat/chainstays and on the down/top tube/seat tube like on some of the iron horses. But due to time he went straight up white, with a red tint... I can't wait to see it in person.
