    Air 40!

Yes you heard it right. A friend of mine works at the only shop on our city that is authorized to service fox forks. When I came in today he told me that fox rep said the 09 40's were gonna be out May 23 and that the 2010 40 will in fact be air. Not sure on the pricing, hopefully it'll stay similar to the coil(assuming the reason for the 40 being $1600 is because of the Ti springs). Im stoked, looks like I'll have another part to fantasize putting on my bike.

I am surprised to be honest. I still think coil is the best choice in any suspension. Maybe they are staying true to there racing backgrounds.

Maybe they'll stay with coil too, and have the Air as an option

Air dampening sucks. Spring dampening sucks.

Everybody in the know, knows that Kitten dampening is where it's at for racing and hucking.

i heard from a guy who heard from a guy that fox will be doing air 40's despite their long held public opinion that coil is significantly superior for a race fork

im pretty sure its impossible for this to be any more reliable

    For the record...

2009 Fox forks were already "out" (available to dealers) as of nearly 2 months ago with the exception of the new 15mm T/A version. In fact, there's a Ventana La Bruja with an '09 40RC2 just chillin' in the showroom waiting for pickup....

Air springs and metal springs are not damping. So what's your point?
