    888VF -- can you convert from 7" to 8"??

I bought a Marz '06 888 VFw/7" travel as part of a build kit last year. I heard it was possible to convert these to 8", but the company I bought it off said it wasn't.

I spoke with Marz and they told me it was, and that the company I was buying it from "didn't know what they were talking about" -- they even gave me a part number for the spacer kit. To make a long story short, I went back and forth a bunch of times trying to get my LBS to order it, and then getting more conflicting info from Marz. Now the latest is that they're saying you CANNOT convert this fork to 8".

Anyone have any experience and know for sure about this?

there have been many threads on this. changing the travel requires purchasing new internals. the damper rods are a set length and not adjustable. i know this to be true for the R, RC and the RCX2 versions, but not 100% sure about the VF....
