Seems like the contest is evolving further way from its roots. I guess the slopestyle crossover keeps it interesting and modern, but I hope riders will still choose and build their own lines. The "icon sender" seems a little sensationalized/over the top

Still, should be pretty interesting to watch...

Thinking about going if my finances are right. I'm sure the riding is amazing. Do you guys usually shuttle? How demanding is Flying Monkey in terms of difficulty? I'm not trying to go Rampage big, but I can ride everything at DV with no problem.

50ft long is not that crazy if you have speed. It is quite easy to overshoot even 35ft gaps even on moderate slopes.

    50ft DOWN is f'ing mad.

I was just outside looking at a 4 story office building (about 50 feet) and cannot imagine committing to making a drop from that height

The words "too big" and "Red Bull Rampage" should not be used together. Isn't the point of rampage to see how big you can go

Ever heard of the NCS? I've since been up on the Monkey after you and I rode it, this time with a proper dh bike, and aside from the risk of falling down/off the hill in a few places, there are places equally demanding at DV.

I will agree that the nerves involved with the exposure on the Monkey make it more difficult for certain, be careful guys, that's a serious trail!

and just like the crankworxs step down only 3 people will even throw a trick off of it, and the person who does will win just b/c of that single hit.

only the race course is hard at DV,,...everything else a breeze (as of 2 years ago).....FM you need to be on your game or over the bars

50/50 = odds of entire body exploding on impact.

But DANG I wanna see someone do it!!
