    Wow that was fast! We just got back to St. George and unloaded the truck, and we left before the awards.

    Thanks for the info!

    How's Canfield and Cedric?

    I heard that Cedric Gracia and Lance Canfield suffered some pretty serious injuries today. Any word on their condition?

    Thanks again Shuntavi for helping me out at your bike shop on Saturday night. That spoke worked just fine and the wheel held together for this mornings ride. I hope they get the contract for the Redbull event for the next four years so that we can all watch Mike ride in the 2007 event!

    Pink Bike says Lance finished 5th. Doesn't mean he's not injured, though.

    Yeah, thanks Doug for your hospitality and great up to date info....
    My www.shuntavibikes.com t-shirt fits great... =)

    FYI Lance Canfield blew his shock on his 1st run dropping the "Tyler" drop... Didn't hear about him getting injured though....

    Lance dropped the Super-T drop and landed it fine but couldn't handle the run out and went down, apparently receiving some sort of laceration in the crash. It must have been somewhat serious enough that the paramedics had him life-flighted out to go be stitched up. I have since heard that he is going to be okay. I did get yelled at by a RedBull employee for taking the following picture.

    It was great to see you guys again, hopefully we can do a ride next time your up. Thanks for dropping by!

    Well he lives down the street from me here in GJ, I guess I'll know soon enough.

    He did end up 5th over all though?

    Lance hit the Super-T drop 4 times and cleaned it 3 of the four times. His last was the sketchiest of the event causing him his life flight. I think what happened was he messed up his leg on his bike making his bleed uncontrolably. His family was sitting right behind me so I got alot of the play by play of what his runs and were going to be very calculated.

    Cedric went down doing a gap that everyone was practicing on during practice. He hit the landing but on the runout he went too far left and hit some sage which bucked him twice. I figure that he was at full speed when he did was thrown into the ground right on is shoulder. He didn't even move after that, and just stayed down till the medics got there to scoop him up on a stretcher board. He was wearing his blue Captain America suit at the time. Strait up hard pile drive into the dirt.

    cedric

    cedric apparently broke his shoulder blade, not his collarbone. at least that is what i was told by a reliable source...also, super t broke his foot on the super t drop from two years ago and wade simmons got jacked as well - i do not know the details other than the medics were looking at his leg - he was carried off, not on a stretcher though.

    Doesn't it get annoying to put a hyphen in between every word? I sure think it would.

    The athletes competing in the rampage are insane. The possibility of getting injured is so high, that I just fail to see how it can be any fun. Of course thats exactly what makes it fun for them. I know I would rather stay in one piece all season than take such huge risks. But again, my career isn't mountain biking either...

    Hey Shuntavi,
    Do you know if Jim Conway is still judging?
    Old friend haven't seen in years, figured you might know of him.
    Thanks,

    I told him if he sends me $10 that I'll send him a working keyboard.
    Tony
    is making a comeback.

    Turns out that five years of not mountain biking, really makes one strive to get back to it.

    There were three hits in that general area. On the hit that Cedric went off of that was the biggest for that hit. But for the biggest landed I still think that it was Zink who threw it down in practice. The biggest landed or not was Bender's day one attempt where he went into the butt slide.

    I was just notified from a reliable source that Cedric broke his shoulder, ruptured his spleen and punctured a lung. I can't find any news on him on the web, but the guy that told me this rides with Lopes a lot and always has the inside scoop on the pros. I'll be praying that he is ok nonetheless.

    Anyone has news on Lance's condition? I know some said it was only a cut on his thigh, but some people were saying compound fracture of his femur? ouch...

    You ever stop and think that all these winners were all too young to be drinking by the US drinking age?

    Kyle=17
    Atherton=19
    Romaniuk=20

    Romaniuk also slammed the bottle the hardest.

    phoque, man... that's painful. I broke my scapula in 2003 trying to air out a huge rocky chute on our local DH run. hurt BAAAAAAAD. but the healing was fairly quick, all things considered. I'm sure Cedric will be healing quickly, he's much younger than I was when I hurt mine.

    Yeah one problem with that; Cedric did more than just break his collarbone. He broke two ribs, punctured one of his lungs, and ruptured his spleen. One of my buddies talked to Lopes and got the info. Cedric is supposed to be getting out of the hospital in a couple days though!
