    2003 AC1 w/ 7" Dual Crown Jr. T???

    Hey everyone,

I have a 2003 Giant AC1. This model years was only spec'd with a single crown Sherman. The 2004 AC1 came with a 7" dual crown Sherman.

I'm thinking about buying a 7" 2004 Jr. T from a friend for a really good price, but I can't get a straight answer if the 03 frame is dual crown friendly. The geometry is pretty close for both years and the frames have the same gussets and design. I called Giant tech support and they said the 03 was spec'd with a single crown so they wouldn't tell me if it would be ok for a dual crown due to liability issues.

Is there anyone who is using a 01, 02 or 03 AC frame with a dual crown fork? I really want to go with this longer fork, but I don't want to damage the frame or have the fork break the frame and get injured.

    Thanks

The whole warranty thing is an issue, but I know and have seen many people successfully run AC frames (03) with double crowned Sliders and such on them as well as Jr.Ts I believe. I think as long as you don't plan on doing huge hucks and you're not extremely abusive and heavy then you'll probably be fine.

    is making a comeback.

Turns out that five years of not mountain biking, really makes one strive to get back to it.
