New question here. 05 Bighit upgrade questions

ok i just got the new bighit and im thinking about swaping some stuff out let me know what you think.
swap the p.o.s. rear shock for an avy or a 4-way or a dhx?
swap the kingpin for a Shiver DC or a 05 sherman slider

plus are there any downsides to the shiver like a lot of stanchion flex and stuff like that
    thanks

Sweet bike, enjoy.
thanks.but what sucks is that the 05 has only 7.5'' of travel.

That's because they spec'd a shorter stroke shock than the older models, to limit travel. You bike has a 8.75 x 2.5 shock, if you get a 8.75 x 2.75 shock you'll get 8.1" travel like the older models.

I would be surprised if they didn't. Its a pretty popular fork, and considering that the Shiver is the backbone of their MX lineup I would be surprised to see it go for mountain bikes.

dont know if that would work. that would put to much stress on the linkage. the frame was made to only have 8.1" not 9"

Bad idea. Why would would you want to mess up the bikes geometry and compression ratios.

But thanks for the tip, very useful.

BTW, I assumed you were kidding, so I got the joke.
