Stoked to hear about the new Mission having Level Link, hopefully they get the leverage rates right and spec with a good shock.

I'd love to get the new mission when it comes out that would be a great all around bike for what I like to ride maybe sell my release and buy a hard tail for the trails local to me that the mission would be overkill on

Performance Bike told me DB is pulling from the retail business. Maybe they are trying to do online only to repair their image.

Sounds like big changes. Performance is huge. It does fit the business model that a lot of mfg are doing. I do like direct sales myself. If the geo numbers match....

Every manufacturer is doing the safe but boring grey/black, yawn. What happened to the 2016 color scheme.

If you are on Seth's patreon, he has a video of a bike build with the new Sync'r carbon frame.

I have to say that I cringed a lot during his build. I would never, NEVER be so half-assed during a build. I will contribute that to the fact that he gets it all for free.

I didn't see anything too bad. Not sure I'd take a hammer to the headset...but other than that...probably nothing I haven't done to one of my bikes or worse during a build and everything turned out perfectly fine. Considering the abuse our bikes see on the trails...no point in handling them with kid gloves while doing the build.

People love to hate on Seth and his mechanical choices. And he loves to take the piss out of the haters on his Pateron channel since what he's been doing for years seems to work fine.

Aside from when his shock loses all air, he continues to ride it, and he breaks someone elseís $3k bike frame.

I feel bad for the people that pay money to watch him ride. Even worse for those who pay for the in-person experience.

The way he installed the BB was another thing. I guess I am anal about having the right tools, or at least finding one to borrow. I have seen things he has done on other videos of his that also make me cringe. I suppose that's why it's called Seth's Bike Hacks (emphasis on hacks). I enjoy his videos for the most part, but some things just irk me.

Huh? I've never seen that. Are you talking about his buddy Backcountry Sampler who -- I agree -- is a bit more of a bike idiot?

I think Seth is pretty awesome and I learned a lot from him. Also he's responsible for me having 2 Diamondback bikes.

Pretty sure it was Alex that broke the frame but I think it was a demo bike so oh well. Alex talks often about being brand and parts ignorant. He just rides for the sake of riding and doesn't get hung up on this brand or that brand or gotta have this level of components to be able to ride or whatever. BKXC is the same...little knowledge about bikes, as long as he can throw as much money as possible at a bike he's good and has the elitist attitude to go along with it.

Yeah, it was Alex who broke the frame. Seth gave me the confidence to go with Diamondback and give the elitist snobs the "Jersey Salute".

Looks like a couple of 2018s (2019s at this point???) have finally hit the site. Weird that they're doing this piecemeal instead of announcing the whole 2018 lineup at once like every other brand is doing.

As predicted, spec downgrades across most models looks to be the case

I bought the Release 3 the day they brought it out with the discount. Still the only deal that compared to it was the YT Jeffsey while it was on sale. I like the Release better so got it while it was available since I missed out on the Release 2. I love it.

I posted a picture of it on the 2019 tread. I plan to do a video of a bike check but I have been too busy riding when I get the free time! ha. Here is the pic though.

I know this is a diamondback thread but DB and Raleigh are sister companies. My son has the 2017 Tokul 3 and loves it. Raleigh had said at the end of last year that they were discontinuing the Tokul 3.

Was checking their site looking for a bike for my granddaughter. Found the 2018 version of the T3. Chatting with a rep and they said they brought it back because of popular demand. Itís about &400 more then the last version but itís a solid bike. Think Iíll get one at the start of the year. Itís a better bike than the mason or syncír with what they have now. Fork is only an suntour xcr but itís solid and performs well.

More like $600 and then some more expensive than the green one. Looks a little too retro with those tires but it's good to see it being sold again.

I posted the update about the bike in the Tokul thread on "26+/27.5+/29+ Plus Bikes" thread: (https://forums.mtbr.com/26-27-5-29-p...d-1032041.html)
