Devinci: please make a 27.5+ rear triangle for the Troy!!!

I know you have a whole bike devoted to this new platform, but what about the loyal and happy Troy owners? I really don't want to buy a whole new bike, so how about a rear triangle that can accommodate the fatter tires?? I'd get that!!!!

    Thanks for listening...I hope.

A Django will fit a 3.0 Chronicle without rubbing. Although it is very close. We were playing around with a few different combinations just last night at my local Devinci dealer Billy Goat Bikes. The wheel and tire combo came directly off of a Hendrix. We didn't try it on a Troy but to look at the rear triangle on the Troy there is at least as much room as the Django. A 3.0 would probably rub the seat stays in hard cornering and there is very little mud clearance. A 2.8 would work perfect I think.

I tried a 40mm(inside) rim with a veetire 2.8 on a troy. It was very close, and not any room/ clearance for any mud or small rocks. Wouldn't really recomend running that.

But i've run a Spartan with a 35mm rim and same tires. Rearend had lots of room to spare pike fork were too tight though.

Might also be the case that the vee trax fatty looks pretty high compared to others.

Just put a schwalbe nobby nic 2.8 on my Troy and it seems to fit pretty good.

How does it perform? I'm getting my 2017 Troy at the end of this month and might want to put bigger tires on it.

I recently put the rear wheel set up from a Santa Cruz Hightowner on the 2016 Troy and it fit great! Room to spare. I know it was a 3.0 tire, but I don't remember which brand or what the rim dimensions were. Good news!!

Thanks for this - allows some interesting options for when my 2.4 high roller wears out.

So this is getting a bit geek here, but what's the outside tire width compared to the previous tire?

that's funny that their website says 2.35 max tire. Stupid really. If it can cram a 2.8 in there it obviously could run a 2.5 AND have plenty of mud clearance...
