    Conquest 24, weight reduction plan?
Hey guys, after a weeklong CX camp, my son is stoked on reducing the weight on his Conquest 24 - what do you all suggest as the best bang for the buck?
    Thanks, Nathan

I would say maybe the wheels. Some lighter wheels would reduce both static weight, as well as rolling resistance. Possibly the tires as well. If the current tires use a wire bead, they're gonna be slightly heavier. Then there's always the seat post, bar, cranks (maybe go to a single ring), etc.

As I am sure you're aware, shaving weight can get a little pricey, so I guess it depends on how much you're willing to spend.

What does it weigh now? Usually tires and wheels are a good place to start on an 'entry level' bike, but how many choices do you have in 24? It's too bad he'll outgrow it in a year or two or three, that makes it tough to spend a lot on, -although things like seatposts and seats can go on the next bike.
