    thoughts on my xcl
I am really enjoying my bike. After riding it for four months I thought I'd write in a tell of few of my thoughts.

1st I can't believe how well it handles the technical climbs. It seems to melt into the surface of whatever I'm climbing up. Absolutely no kick-back. Sometimes I wonder if I missed the rock, rut, or whatever with my back tire. Lots of fun.

The bike gives me confidence to let go of the brakes on the way down. It's just a blast to let her fly through the chop and enjoy the ride. On the faster sections, I have particularly noticed how this thing absorb the ruts. I just lean back a little, lift the front, and its like the rut was never there.

I just put a revelation on the front and its been a great addition. I find myself forgetting to dial down the front when I climb. I'm not sure how much of the TA I'll use, but it's there if I need it.

Soon I'll post pictures of my "blue collar XCL" with all the used/swapped/scavenged parts.

    take care.

    Nice build
Gotta love the chainstay protector. How old is the crank and pedals? Front derailleur looks pretty sweet, though.

Glad you are liking the Revelation, BTW, it is probably the most underrated fork out there. Nice to know it works well on an XCL, too.

Formula K24s, X0, X9, Thomson stuff... hardly blue collar! More like quality pre-owned Lexus than a Ford Taurus. =)

Hmmm. Fat Albert on the front, that's racing rubber. What brand of rotor are you running on the rear? I don't think that that is a Formula 160mm.
