    SOMA frames

Anyone here ever ride a SOMA Groove?

I know they're not a custom frame, but this seems like a good place to ask.

Pricepoint has'em and I need a new frame. Since I'm a non-aggresive XC rider with very limited funds and tired of aluminum, the steel Groove is looking good.

Any other steel frame suggestions in the very under $500 area?

    Thanks!

Another steel frame under $500 is Jenson's Zion hardtail made form Reynolds 853 and avail with or w/o the EBB. There have been as low as $289, pretty low for 853.

SOMA frames are designed in San Francisco by American Cyclery on Stanyan Street, a very respected SF bike shop. I haven't ridden their hardtails, just their cross bike, which was very nice. Upclose, the frames do look good and workmanship seems to be of good quality.
