I have one! 1998 or so. had some disc tabs welded on in 2005. tried to sell it in classifieds but no luck. I'll probably use it for one of my kids when they get big enough.

My 1996-7(?) Habanero 17" Ti XC rig

just stumbled across the thread - i happen to own one of these frames built up w/some really nice late '90s parts. i swapped out the shifters, tires & rear derailleur (now an XTR & not the M739 XT pictured), but it's pretty much as purchased otherwise.

    - Chris King/Mavic 217 front wheel
    - XTR/Mavic 217 rear wheel
    - XTR 11-30 cassette
    - Bontrager Revolt ST/Super X tires
    - Rock Shox SID fork
    - Rock Shox suspension post
    - Selle Italia Nitrox saddle
    - White Industries cranks
    - Kooka rings
    - Suntour XC Pro pedals
    - Azonic stem
    - Onyx bar
    - Control Tech Team Issue barends
    - Ringle XC cage
    - XT brake levers
    - Avid Arch Rival 4.0 rear brakes
    - Avid 2.0 front brakes
    - XTR front derailleur
    - XTR rear derailleur
    - Deore DX thumbshifters

Here is my 1994 Habanero. I bought it for cheap as a frame, and built it up without much expectation. But I am thrilled with the ride quality! I loved the stiffness of the frame combined with the compliance of the triple butted P2 fork (415mm a2c), and 2.25" tires at low pressure made for a great feeling bike. Oversized, straight gauged tubes, bomb-proof dropouts, classic geometry. What's not to like?
