shock trade?
Anyone want to trade an RP23 for my DHX Air 5.0?
I've ridden it a couple times and I'm already tired of messing with it.
If I were to buy a new shock, is there anything special about the Chumba shocks, or can I buy something off the shelf?
Oh yeah, also: Chumba shock is 7.875x2.0. I was looking at Monarchs on Jenson and noticed that they use the metric measurement instead... exact conversion is 200.025x50.8, would that be equivalent to what Rockshox is selling as a 200x51?

Not an RP23, but Santa Cruz is selling 7.875x2 Float R for only $99.

Wow, right in my price range, too! Thanks!

I'm thinking about getting one myself as a spare.
I rarely use the platform anyway.

If you get one of those Floats for $99 it might not be a bad idea to add $150 to have it PUSHed.
I've got a Float R that I'm sending to PUSH (when my appointed time comes next month). Not that I've been unhappy with the DHX-A, but I like the simplicity of the Float and having it 'tuned" to my weight and riding style can't be a bad idea.

I did pick one up. I might send it to PUSH but I want to see how I like it stock first.

Did you not like the feel of the DHX when riding, or was it more just a convenience issue ?

Convenience. I'm sure I could get the shock set up right with enough patience but I much prefer something a bit simpler. Plus I don't plan to use the platform adjustment.

Chumba specs the smal can...
Chumba specs the small air can for the DHX air, which is a little unusual. It gives a more progressive ramp up than standard big can.

but i think it still has the stupid knob instead of the lever... cant remember.
I never use the platform either. i have mine set on (2) and never switch it otherwise. Im sure the R or RP2 would be just as good!!

My DHX Air does not have a lever, it has a knob.
