    Reason for name change?

Just wondering why the name changed from Chumba Wumba to Chumba Racing?

One rumor I heard was that they don't want to get confused with the rock band chumba wumba anymore.

I personally really like chumba wumba though, really catchy.

A couple of thoughts from a marketing perspective:

    1. Chumba Racing helps to identify what the company is about whereas Chumba Wumba is pretty vague.
    2. It's very likely that the vast majority of people out there who know about Chumba were already referring to the brand simply as "Chumba" well before the official name change so, essentially, it was a natural progression.
    3. The shorter name is much more identifiable as a logo on a bike. When you have a long name and have to make tiny letters to fit the whole thing on a top-tube, it's going to be hard for the average rider to identify what type of bike someone's riding if they simply see it going by on the trail. The larger name allows for better visibility and, hopefully, causes more people to identify and recognize the brand which, ultimately, should lead to increased sales.
