    A little upgrade...

    Hello All,
Before I start let me say that I am grateful to all of you who have unknowingly helped me out in this process.

So I decided I wanted to get a new frame. I have been riding XC race frames (Dean Baja, SC Blur) for many years, but wanted to try something new. The Blur was starting to annoy me on bumpy climbs, and I had broken two Dean frames and dealt with their tremendously bad CS. After surfing and lurking, I decided to try a Chumba XCL. Since I don't have a local dealer, I called Matt. Let me say that this started out to be a simple frame change, but things quickly got ugly from that point on. Backed by a federal stimulus check and a wife who is amazingly understanding, I kept saying "yes". I should also say that Matt didn't actually push me into anything, it was much more like the "dark side of the force".

    Anyhow, here she is:

Med Chumba XCL anodized Grey RP23 (7lbs exact)
    Fox Talas R
08 XT Cranks, cassette, shifters, derailleurs, and brakes
    thompson stem - 5 degree 100mm
    thompson post
    WTB silverado saddle
    Easton monkeylite Sl bar
    Chumba grips

And the wheels (built by Matt)
stan's 355 rims on kong blue hubs, matching blue nipples
    Maxxis ignitor's

    Total weight 28.3 lbs

Only short rides so far, but I should get a full chance to ride soon. I'll post my impressions soon...

Very nice! I'm pretty partial to blue hubs too. They go nicely with the ano grey.
