Just what I was hoping!
The goal for my new XCL build was ~28.0lbs. Borrowed my friends high quality fish scale yesterday and it tipped the scales at 28.03 lbs and that's with DHX 5.0 shock!
Components:
XTR shifters/front derailluer
XT cranks/rear derailluer
2007 Fox Talas RLC
American Classic Wheelset
WTB Ti saddle
Specialized tires
XTR cables
Juicey 7 brakes
Thompson seatpost and stem
Raceface XC riser bar (alloy... carbon fiber doesn't belong on mountain bikes)
This bike absolutely rocks! I live in the North East and ride a lot of technical singletrack. With my Santa Cruz Superlight I had to pick my lines carefully, to the point where I was over-thinking. This bike chews up the trails, pick a line and just hammer! It also climbs like a goat.

I beg to disagree about carbon handlebars. I've been using monkey lites and the raceface carbon handlebars and they are stiff and strong. You should try them and shave off a few more ounces.
Congratulations on the build! Nice weight!

Sorry, but it doesn't exist without pics.....
Actually, we're just jealous. Congrats on the build!
