    Hard Case for XCL

    Hi Chaps

I have a medium XCL and will be travelling to the US in June on busines with a short road trip planned from LV to SCL. I have thought about bringing my XCL so am looking for advice on an airline "Proof" hard case. Any Ideas??

    Regards

    Mark

You can pretty much fit any bike in there and it protects it perfectly.

    XCL Folds small

If you are careful the XCL can fold very small for transport. You can remove the seatstay and chainstay separately. Keep in mind the drive side bolt by the crankset is reverse threaded on import frames. And beware red loctite. Last I knew, Chumba was not shipping with red loctite, but I know many owners who use it on Chumbas. If your bolts have red loctite, they need to be heated up to be removed. Those trick butane cigarette lighter torches have been known to do the job. But be careful, of course. You will also need to sort out all the cables that are attached to the stays.
